Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Easy to make and light on the stomach. Feel free to change-up the recipe as you see fit only trying to provide some good suggestions.
1 Boston Lettuce
1/2 kg Ground Chicken or Turkey
2 Cloves of Garlic (Minced)
1 Tsp Fresh Ginger (Minced)
5 Green Onions (Sliced)
1 Red Pepper
1/4 Tsp Red Chilli Flakes
1 Portobello Mushroom
1/2 C Sliced Water Chestnuts
3 Tbsp Sliced Almonds
Grab your non-stick frying pan, throw in your ground chicken, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes. Once the meat has been partially cooked, add red pepper and mushrooms. Cook for approximately 5 minutes or until the mushroom and pepper have softened.
Next add your julienned carrots, water chestnuts and sliced almonds. Cook for an additional 2 minutes you don’t want to overcook your carrots leave them with a fresh crisp crunch.
Take your Boston lettuce and carefully peel off the outer leaves, careful not to rip them as you will be using these as the exterior of your wrap.
Using a large spoon or ladle scoop ingredients into your lettuce shells, careful not to overfill.
