Gingerbread Cookie – Recipe

Gingerbread cookies have always been a holiday favourite of mine. To keep this recipe simple and quick I choose to use a food processor, however you can always use a large bowl and strong whisk.




1 ½ C Molasses

1 C packed brown sugar

2/3 C Cold water

1/3 Butter/Margarine

7 C Flour

2 tsp Baking Soda

1 tsp Salt

1.5 tsp Allspice

4.5 tsp Ginger

1.5 tsp Cloves

2 .5 tsp Cinnamon



This gingerbread recipe has to be one of the easiest. Through all of your ingredients in a food processor (I happen to use a Cuisinart Elite 12-cup (3 L) Food Processor) mix together until all ingredients are blended evenly.

Place your dough in a large bowl and refrigerate 2 hours. Divide into equal quarters, so unworked dough remains cold.

Roll 1/4inch thick cut with your favorite shaped cutters.

Bake @ 325 F for 10-12 min.
