Joseph Abboud is about to become a household name in Canada once AGAIN with his launch of This spring, the Joseph Abboud brand recently launched an exclusive partnership with Moores Clothing for Men, featuring his collection of aspirational, yet affordable menswear. Both fall collections were recently previewed in Toronto and I was there to meet the man of the hour.

I sat down with Abboud himself and had a lengthy conversation about everything from beautiful linens to vintage shopping in the Queen West area. This Boston native isn’t your typical designer icon. He was funny, personable and above all extremely passionate about the fashion empire he has so hard worked to create. At the age of 16, Abboud started his road to becoming one of the world’s most significant names in men’s fashion. In 1987, Joseph Abboud launched his own eponymous label. He was the only designer to have received the coveted Menswear Designer of the Year twice in a row (1989 & 1990) from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Other awards and honors include The Cutty Sark Award for Most Promising Menswear Designer in 1988, the first Woolmark Award for Distinguished Fashion in 1989 and again in March of 1993.

Joseph Abboud launched with an elevated, exclusive collection that includes dress shirts, sportswear, outerwear, dress furnishings and tailored clothing. Each piece has a unique design that exudes exceptional quality, intricate details and refined masculinity that are the ultimate in menswear luxury. Crafted entirely out of the finest Italian fabrics by master tailors, Joseph Abboud’s new collection combines traditional techniques with modern designs and materials.

Joseph Abboud designed each garment individually with custom details including luxurious weaves, unusual finishes and unique linings. Nested tailored suits start at $823. This isn’t a bad deal considering how expensive a tailored suit can cost a man nowadays. Women have it so easy!

The collection at Moores includes dress shirts, sportswear, outerwear, dress furnishings and tailored clothing. Nested tailored suits start at $575. Joseph Abboud can be found at Moores Clothing for Men stores across Canada. Basically you can get everything from the Abboud Collection from casual to black tie.

“This exclusive online offering is more innovative in its choice of fabrics, colour palettes and finishing details giving it a sartorial edge. This collection is my expression of the new modern man…a true style evolution,” said Joseph Abboud, Chief Creative Director of Men’s Wearhouse, parent company of Moores Clothing. Hint Hint – brushed linens are going to be a thing of the future…
